Various sizes of silicone and Comply eartips included in the package allow for an exceptionally secure seal in the ear canal, reducing ambient noise for an undisturbed and safe music enjoyment.

Silicone earguides with a professional over-the-ear design reduce noise travelling up the cable when used in the gym, when jogging or any other activity. The secure design of the PFE 111 earphones is completed with a flexible tension clip ensuring the cable sits securely behind the neck whilst moving about.

The PFEs have a strong but not boomy or overpowering low-end, a crisp, detailed high-end and a wonderful, smooth and balanced mid-range in-between. The sound-stage is about as wide as I’ve encountered from an IEM, and there’s a great, almost holographic sense of positioning.

The Phonaks also cope brilliantly with vocal-led tracks with relatively sparse instrumentation. There’s something about that creamy, warm mid-range that just works wonders with the human voice. There’s no problem, however, if your tastes run more to rock or pop.
