Audio-Technica ATH-AD700 Open Back HiFi Headphones. Clear and natural sound sweet as honey and as lucid as the first morning light. Audio Technica's ATH-AD700 feature a soft and relaxed sound, with deep resonating bass and extended vocal projection. The lightweight honeycomb aluminium housing and magnesium frame of the ATH-AD700 offers an exceptionally comfortable and secure fit making them perfect for lengthy listening sessions. Self adjusting 3-D wing supports on the frame automatically adjusts to any size of head for a trouble-free listening comfort.

Large drivers with neodymium magnet systems and special voice coils have been utilised by Audio Technica for clear and natural sound reproduction. These lightweight headphones produce a lower level of pressure on the ears, resulting in a completely natural sensation when in use, even for extended periods. The included velvet earpads of the ATH-AD700 are also exceedingly comfortable and guarantee fatigue-free listening.

The straight cord located on the left earpiece is manufactured out of high-quality hybrid PCOCC and titanium alloy ends in a 3.5mm gold-plated jack adaptor. For versatility the package also includes a 6.35mm adaptor to connect the ATH-AD700 to your HiFi system.

Far better than Sennheiser HD595

In my opinion and several others, this is the best headphones for all round usage (e.g. movies, music and games). I’ve put the AD700 through several music and movie test and it passed with flying colors. The frequency spectrum from low to high is exceptionally clear and well defined. In movies (such as the matrix trilogy), the bass reproduction was accurate and deep. The soundstage was also awe-inspiring via my X-Fi XtremeMusic. In music, some users may not like the lack of bass, but that’s not the fault of the AD700 but rather the mastering itself. So only use the EQ is necessary. Prior to purchasing the AD700, I bought the Sennheiser HD595. To my disappointment, it failed to reproduce clean, distortion free (movie level) deep bass. Also, its over-all sound wasn’t as ‘clear’ as the AD700. However, for music only purposes, the HD595 will not disappoint.
