Revelation
Instant pleasure from first listen, and has increased in only 1 days burn in (either my ears or the cans).
Beautifully detailed highs. So delicate and in no way bright/piercing. The middle gives songs with female vocals a silky lushness, and heavy rock music an energy that puts a smile on my face.
And the bass.... I thought I was a bass head, I thought I needed it in bucket loads. The W1000X has a kind of bass that I've never heard before. Its all there, but its not intrusive, and so clean. It just balances into the music perfectly. Coming from my ignorant background in regards to high end cans, this is a revelation to me.
Plus, they feel and look so refined and precious.. I think I'm in love.
I was a little worried they would favour classical and other more delicate genres, but they have taken anything I've thrown at them... and pretty much shown me how the song is supposed to sound. Dubstep, Rock, IDM, Ambient, Classical, Jazz.
All i can say is thank you you Audio Technica
P.S Ohhh the bass ...
