I am looking for a new set of headphones with a budget of about £50-£60. (although I could be convinced to go higher if necessary)

    On Ear
Use for commuting, trains and underground and also aeroplanes as fly regularly therefore need to minimise noise leakage so need closed backs
Not sure whether benefits of noise cancelling are worthwhile
Listen to mix of music but mainly guitar based indie music
    Also listen to podcasts regularly

    I have been looking at

    Sennheiser PXC250 Noise Cancelling
    Sennheiser PX200-11
Also seen Goldring NS1000 for £59 (these look quite big and would prefer something fairly discrete)

    Any advice appreciated

Hi Mickey Hazard - some excellent forum names recently

If you can get the excellent Goldring NS1000 for such a tiny price then grab them. They are superb at their normal price - it is very hard to gauge the size of them without seeing them but they are not that big (much bigger than PX200II) and have an excellent carry case.

These would suit all of your applications, they sound great and are in my experience very reliable.
