I work as a groundsman with noisy machines. I want to use an mp3 player while working and need pair that will cut out outside noise. I am also slightly hard of hearing and wear hearing aids. When not wearing them it is low frequency sounds i hear best.

    Hi Deanster,

    Happy New Year!

Noise cancelling headphones will definitely help you. The electronic noise cancellation works best with low frequency rumble like that produced by machines. I would go for an over ear design which seems safer whilst you are working. Have a look at these two, both of which I really like as they are really impressive quality at this price.

Goldring NS1000 Noise Cancelling Headphones (Goldring NS-1000)

Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7b QuietPoint Noise Cancelling Headphones

For extra safety these wireless noise cancellers are worth considering

    Sennheiser PXC310 On-Ear Noise-Cancelling Headphones (PXC 310)
