    Hello.
My AKG K26G headphones have decided to call it a day and now I am looking to replace them.

I use them for every type of music and mostly from my iPod. I do like dance music!

I am looking for an overhead pair and definately not an in-ear pair.

I have been looking at the:-

    AKG Acoustics K 518
    Sony MDRXB300
Sennheiser HD 202 - Mark II
    Sennheiser HD 205 II

Are any of these the best, if not can anyone suggest a pair please?

    Many thanks,

    Hi Merton69

What kind of music do you like? Who are your favourite acts? What is your Max budget? Please describe if you like a warm bassy tone or or cool detailed sound.

Let me know and I'll try to suggest something that fits:D

In the meantime have a browse through our best headphones top 10 reviews. This may give you some ideas for headphones that you want to ask more questions about.

    Thanks for your help!

Like it says in the thread title, between £30-£40.

I also wrote most music especially sythn (Gary Numan), dance music.

I mentioned my old AKG's which I though had a quality sound with a good base response so I suppose a similar sound balance.

See the list I put in the opener may help you as to what I have seen so far on the net.

Actually we just got these in Pioneer SE-MJ31, supposed to be £45 which I think is about right. They are really really impressive despite not looking like much at this price I cannot fault them. They are well made and unfussy looking with a warm but balanced feel, plenty of detail and comfy too!:D

Not on the site yet but available all over.

Thanks for the info but £45 may be a bit too much at the moment.

I have been looking at the:-

    AKG Acoustics K 518
    Sony MDRXB300
Sennheiser HD 202 - Mark II
    Sennheiser HD 205 II

Are any of these the best, if not can anything else please?

Again, thanks for taking time out on this!

Please, what is the difference between the:-

    Sennheiser Hd 203
    Sennheiser Hd 205II.

I haven't tried the HD205II but the drivers in the headphones that shape are for some reason worse than the drivers in the ones with the evolution/HD203 shape. Maybe that isn't true any more.
