I am transcribing speech originally recorded on MP3. My monitor speakers are not loud enough and my present headphones have a 'muffled' quality which makes consonants unclear when listening to spoken word.

Any suggestions? I don't want to spend a lot of money.

    Best headphones for spoken word

    Hi Peter,

Here is my suggestion Phonak Audeo PFE 012 Perfect Bass £79.95 Crystal clear thanks to their excellent Balanced Armature drivers. We get really positive comments about these from people who listen to a lot of spoken word, e.g. audio books. This is as clear as it gets without spending another £100 on top. Also stunning for Acoustic and Classical music.

Similar clarity could be achieved for a little less with the Soundmagic PL50 £54.95 as this also has a Balanced Armature driver but sound is a little thin in comparison.

    Hope that helps:)
