Could someone recommend a set of in-ears that have good ambient sound isolation? My friend really liked the blocking ability of my Etymotic 6i. These aren't made anymore and the feedback I've read for the Etymotic MC5 has been poor.

Looking to spend up to £80.

Here ya go - my sources say this is not only good, but unusually so. How much isolation you get depends on how well they seal in your ears. Sometimes that requires extra tips, but you have to try the standard tips first since all ear canals are different (mine sure are).

I'm going to second dalethorne on this, the Final Audio Adagio IIIs are the best for that price in my opinion. To make them even better you can add some Comply tips, the T-200 range work perfectly :)
