I listen to audiobooks and when I walk the movement of my headphone cords cause the ear buds to make noise. Is there a brand or a method by which I can eliminate that sound without having to go to bluetooth headphones., I don't listen to music. Onlyaudio books so high quality is not so important as is lack of extraneous sound.

I have the very expensive Sennheiser IE800 and its cord is microphonic like you describe, so it must be very hard to find one that isn't. But stay tuned here because one of the experts will answer pretty soon.

    Hi nwdixieboy,

There are a number of things you can do to reduce microphonics with earphones.

    - Use a cable clip
    - Put the cable over the back of your ear instead of straight down
    - Let the cable hang down the back of your neck

All of the above will reduce the amount of vibration sent up the cable and into your ears by dampening the flow - A bit like the Earth connection on a plug.
