Indestructible Headphones - GermanMaestro Creates a Monster

We’ve just taken on the German Maestro range of headphones, including the GMP 8.35 D and 8.300 D, which are described as being “almost indestructible”.

They are very sturdily built, with steel headbands and ear cups made from a robust PU material that can be wiped clean easily. These headphones are built for maximum durability and are suitable for studio reference, portable use with an MP3 player or shop listening post applications.

Best of all the sound reproduction is of studio reference quality. Bass response is powerful and well defined, vocals are clear and overall a well balanced sound. Perfect for DJ monitoring, home listening or portable use (specifically the GMP 8.35 D - this is the lower impedance model).

With applications including in-store listening stations (GermanMaestro have a special version of the headphone for point of sale applications with armoured cabling) and other public use situations, the GMP 8.000 series is a truly flexible listening tool.

We’ve tried some really quite severe tests, e.g. kicking the headphones, stamping on the headphones, twisting the headband in all directions, and so far we haven’t been able to leave any mark on the headphone. It’s clear that GermanMeastro aimed to have build the most robust headphone on the market.

These German Maestro headphones are the toughest we have ever seen.

What really surprised me about the German Maestro 8.35D was the sound, seconded by the comfort. Normally I think of great sound as requiring a big bulky headphone, yet the 8.35D is a very normal modest size, and the padding just right for a comfy fit. A tough-built headphone on the other hand suggests comfort issues and compromises in sound quality to achieve that durability. Be prepared for a shock. The sound of the 8.35D is as smooth as water on a plate, with detailed bass, crystal clear mids, and sweet treble that makes you want to stay up long past bedtime. Highly recommended and a steal for the price.

Reviewing these 8 headphones, the GMP 8.35D gets noted as a true high fidelity headphone for a very reasonable price - a bargain as it were.

I was really impressed by the interview where the person who uses the headphone describes what's important to him and how the product meets his requirements. Just watching him bend and flex the 8.35D is amazing.
