Hi, I've done a search in the forums and drawn a blank...

I'm looking to replace my AKG K319 earphones which have an inline slider volume control. Other than sound quality (!) my main criterion is to have a volume control on the cable - I'm not interested in remote track operation or a microphone. They will be used with a Nexus 4.

The only ones I've found are the Sennheiser CX400s which have been around a while now. Are there any more recent models that have a slider volume control, or that are Android compatible - I thought the E10s had a volume control from the picture, but it seems not. Any pointers please? I'm hoping to spend around £40 but will go a bit higher if I find the right features.

    Hi Gary

Putting a physical attenuator onto the cable drops the sound quality so manufacturers rarely do this anymore. You can get extension cables with a volume control - same thing will happen (loss in quality due to extra resistance of an inferior component inline) but you can avoid it when it isn't needed.

    Something like this.
