Hey guys, I'm new to this forum.

I'm willing to spend max £100-£130 on a new headset. It will be used for music and games.

My current one is a Sennheiser HD 595 which I was pretty pleased with, but the wires have gone bad, I didn't treat it very well.

It has to have big cups as I have relatively big ears and they get irritated easily. I liked the cloth cup of the HD 595, but it is not a requirement as long as the cup doesn't touch my ear too much.

I've heard a lot of good about the AKG K550, but if you can help me with some alternatives it would be great.

    Hi Kenneth,

If you want to stick with an open backed headphone then I would go for the Grado SR80i.

If you want a closed back then have a look at the Sennheiser HD380 PRO.

Closed back headphones will be better at isolating sound and generally have a more bassy/weighted sound. Open back headphones with give you a better sense of space and more natural sound but noise will leak out from the headphones.
