Hi I sorry if i'm asking a stupid question but i have noooo idea about earphones. My Husband is deaf in one ear and has serious hearing loss in the other ear coupled with tinitus (which is getting worse) he now can not hear the TV if their is any back ground noise and he also has to have it on sooo loud the rest of us would end up deaf!!

He has been advised to get some noise reduction headphones to help him when watching tv and to save my sanity but i have no idea what i'm looking at!!

Your assistance would be much appreciated.

    Noise reduction headphones

If you want to reduce noise leaked from the headphones then definitely look for a closed back pair. This also has the effect of re-enforcing the sound, which I'm guessing is desirable.

Something like the Sennheiser HD62 would be a good place to start, or if you are looking for something with better sound and more comfort then the Beyerdynamic DT770 is an excellent headphone with lots of sound isolation (i.e. noise reduction).
