    Hello everyone,

    since a few weeks i own a FiiO x5 + e12a Amp.
I am so happy that i made this decision because the sound is amazing!
    I own:

    Bose Quietcomfort 20i (in ears)
Final audio design heaven IV (in ears)

Im happy with this but i have a feeling im undervaluing my x5+e12a.
I have the feeling i can get a way better sound out of this thing with better headphones.

I am not looking for in-ears since i believe that headphones sound better any day of the week.
The options that seem apealing to me:

    Audio technica ATH-m70x
    Sennheiser urbanite XL
Sennheiser momentum 2nd generation (not the wireless one)
    Sennheiser HD600

Or should i stay with my m50x?

I listen to alot of heavy metal (behemoth, amon amarth, insomnium etc). And i also listen to alot of electronic music like Aphex twin, infected mushroom etc.
The problem with this kind of music (especially the heavy metal) is bass. The bass guitar is very overwhelming in alot of heavy metal.
I want a really clear sound but i am completely lost in the headphone world.

What do you guys think would be a good choice for me to maximize my x5?
If you guys think that there is a headphone thats not in the list i made but is definitely better please tell me!
Im open to everything! and i really dont care about looks.
I just want it to be over ears.

    My budget is around $400.

    Thanks in advance!

Thinksound ON1: Great on-ear type with a solid bass and nice overall sound.

Senn HD26: Another great on-ear type slightly brighter than ON1.

Philips X1/X2: A little bassier than the above with a little more treble too.

B&W P7: Probably the best, especially when you have a good amp. Nearly neutral overall sound, strong bass, not bright. Amon Amarth can get congested sounding if the headphone isn't clear, and the P7 is clear.
