I'm thinking of getting a pair of speakers for my TV but was wandering what kind of speakers produce the best sound for listening at low volume levels?

A friend of mine has this surround sound system with a big sub but not so big plastic speakers and he tends to have it rather loud when watching TV so I want to avoid that. My TV has speakers that are facing down rather than forward and it's difficult to understand what is being said unless they are turned up pretty loud.

Would a pair of bigger size wooden box speakers be better?

    Cheers!

If you want to listen at low volume then you probably won't need a sub, just a couple of small bookshelf/standmount speakers will do the trick. Richer Sounds have a very good selection :)

    Hey tadaska,

Try Bose Companion 2 Series III Multimedia Speakers they are best if you want to have clear sound at any volume.

And you can also add your speaker to your tv through Indigo BTR9L Transmitter. This Bluetooth 2-in-1 device works both as a receiver and a transmitter.
