I have narrowed down my search for a decent set of closed backs to these 2 and wondered if anyone has experience of either or both? I hadn't really considered the Denons but have heard them raved about in various places. The Beyers are the 80 ohm version.
Which would you buy? (Rock music listening out of iPod/iMac and Linn Classik/Majik 2100 Power Amp hifi) |

My preference would be the Beyerdynamic DT770, as they are a headphone designed for everyday use by professionals rather than a consumer headphone.
The difference in build quality is significant. The Denon AH-D2000 feels quite a lot lower quality when compared with the Beyerdynamic. Soundwise the Denon is not quite as accurate as the Beyerdynamic. They both have a deep, powerful bass response, but again the Beyer is better defined.
