It looks like it's too late for your present.

Wireless headphones are not really the best solution for music editing as the sound quality is not anywhere near a similar priced wired headphone.

The Sennheiser RS160 is a recommended wireless headphone that's a little over budget. This is a closed back headphone that uses Kleer digital technology, which is much better sound quality than the older analogue RF wireless technology.

If wires are possible I'd think about one of the following:

Beyerdynamic DT770 (80 Ohm) - Closed back full size headphones. Powerful bass response with excellent positional accuracy (works well for for movies and games, but is also a great reference headphone). Comfortable ear pads with fully over ear design. High levels of sound isolation. Low enough impedance to be driven by portable audio devices, e.g. iPod, but does benefit from amping. As used throughtout the BBC (check photos on Radio 1 website). Robustly made with replaceable ear pads.

AKG K-240 MKII - Semi open full size headphones. Accurate sound resproduction, with a linear response that makes it suitable for monitoring. Bass response is full and well defined. Semi-open design means minimal sound leakage, but creates more open sound than a closed back. Headband is particularly robust and can be twisted in all directions without breaking. Replaceable cables (can be fitted with straight or coiled cables).
