Have reversed units to fit them backwards so they have a lower profile too. (still use left cable to left ear - but use the right IEM) |

Very nice photos of the Super.fi 5 Pro with custom sleeves. Thank you Sambop.
I always though the Super.fi 5 Pro was a little quirky with it's fit, but ACS seem to have done an excellent job of fitting the ears with a custom sleeve. Nice one! |

heya just joined today but been a long time browser of the forums!
first post so thought id introduce myself, names david and from freezing scotland! anyways hope the pics show up ill try explain my portable rigs etc SOUND STYLE first my sound sig and reccomendations of setup for each type i listen to a lot of - classical - bach dvorak vanessa mae etc (ipod touch, phonak) guitar (instrumental) - rodrigo y gabriela, dirt surfers, mogwai etc (ipod touch, phonak, fiio) EBM and electo industrial - Angelspit , Pzychobitch, Aural Vampire etc (ipod 5th, fiio, jvc marshmallows (or if at home/flying JVC mh-750) Smooth flow Hip-hop - Shwayze, tribe called quest, pete rock (ipod 5th, fiio, either jvc mh-750 or (believe it or not) the phonak's. reggae - mishka, marley, bedouin soundtrack (ipod touch, phonaks) sources - ipod 5th gen video (holds most of music in uncompressed codecs, around 150gb music give take) - 250gb (mod) white (originally black) with red clickwheel and black select button. Rockboxed and ipodwizard themed. ipod nano 1st gen 4gb (for running or if i need to be ultra portable) rockboxed! ipod touch 16gb (mainly for games, or flying) amps - Fiio e5 (think everyone knows what this is) DIY altoid tin mod - (before I got e5) Earphones Busted Sennheiser IE8 (SORRY TO SAY THIS BUT CANNOT STAND THESE HEADPHONES SOMETHING JUST DOESNT WORK FOR ME AND CANT PUT MY FINGER ON IT) ((sold awaiting delivery) Shure SE 530 (the dreaded snapped cable) Currently used. Phonak Pfe - Best earphones i have ever owned and are an absolute dream to listen to sturdy and will hopefully put a review up later (one minus point sometimes especially through flac Mogwai and silver mount zion songs tend to sound over analytical but a great allrounder and incredibly impressed) shure SE210 - used for running and rock climbing etc due to amazing fit and over ear shaping (absolutley love these phones 3 years old still top condition and v good sound) JVC Markrshmallow - with kramer mod shure tripple flange buds (use these because i listen to a lot of very bass heavy music ((more so than rap and hip hop)) such as ebm and electro industrial pzychobitch angelspit etc. I find that with these mods the bass remains while slightly smoothing out the treble and thus can not praise them enough if you are a basshead - cmon they only cost 10 bucks ![]() HEADPHONES JVC MH-750 - wow extremely tight and defined bass, used with the fiio the volume increase gives thumping (shaking your head) although i do not find the actual bass response increases with the fiio and turning on the booster function is detriment to sound clarity of treble. However for isolation on a plane and for bassheads these are highly reccomended as excellent sound/bass trade off for the price, (trust me I have searched and searched and searched, tested and tested many phones. My limit was £150 for a portable headphone, these at the time cost 70 and for those that like a warmer yet very clear sound give these a try. Creative Noise cancelling (not the greatest sound and not as good as bose n/c phone (damm i have a vendetta against bose) for £25 excellent value and adequate noise cancelling for flying coach. There you have it, I have tried to add some pics and would like to say a big hello to everyone. In the coming weeks i will add reviews on each set of phones and if anyone has questions or hates me, lol, just let me know. As i said first post of hopefully many to come so still learning the *ahem* etiquite. cheers everyone david |

Thought I would try to post mine:
Headphones (those that you would consider mobile and dang I can make anything mobile) Cans: Hifiman HE-6 - The Ultimate Hifi Orthodynamic headphone ATH - ESW9 - The perfect mobile woody for me. Sony PFR-V1 - The very odd but very effective personal speaker system Aiaiai Swirl - Bought for durability and huge v curve sq ath ckm55 - A gift but powerful fun bass makes me want to keep them. Stax Sr001 MK2 - the Holy Grail of mobility, lightening fast attack, laser guided imaging and wonderful smooth analog detail (so long as your ears don't bleed from the physical discomfort). Sources Hifiman HM602 - High quality Chinese DAP maker - big thick bassy presentation Apple Ipod 5.5 Gen (Rockboxed) - the best of the bunch. iRiver iHP 120 - Rockboxed for flac and optical out makes it one of the classics iRiver iHP 340 - Superior stock sq and great with rockbox. Headphone Amps Basically one of the best manufacturers in the market - The Go Vibe range, now being developed and sold out of Singapore. Go Vibe Petite Amp/Dac - the baby of the range but plenty of punch - a forward aggressive amp. Go Vibe Magnum amp/dac - bigger brother of the Petite with 3 step gain control and bass control dial. Go Vibe Vulcan+ amp - huge daddy amp with treble, bass, gain, impedance control |
