Grado's GS1000i cushion design actually creates a "room" for the ears to sit, creating a larger soundstage and greater spatial experience for the listener. It was most important to design the correct balance between the driver and the wooden driver housing to give the resulting quality sound that is desired. With this cushion design, the GS1000i are one of the most comfortable and best sounding headphones on the market today. 

A new species of handcrafted Mahogany used for the earcups of the GS1000i utilises a complex curing process and enables the tonal quality to be considerably enhanced. Coupled with new upgraded dynamic transducers and new 8 conductor cable, the new design results in superior control and stability of the high and mid range of the sound spectrum.

Preserving the sound that defines Grado headphones from the rest, the GS1000i revels in rich, full-bodied vocals and smooth dynamics for the top end of the sound frequencies. Almost bottomless, the bass response produced is rich, deep and detailed in every aspect, allowing for a fatigue-free listening indulgence that is hard to beat.
