Grado RS1 Description

The Grado RS1 headphones are Grado's top of the range Reference series headphone.

The RS-1 is the masterpiece of the Grado collection and oozes class both in looks and sound. Featuring handcrafted Mahongany earpieces made using an intricate curing process, Grado has been able to optimize the tonal quality. The RS1 uses dynamic transducers in an open-air configuration, the cups being open-backed. The result is a smooth, coherent sound with detailed dynamics. Frequency response ranges from 12-30 kHz and the drivers are matched to 0.05dB. Weighing 9oz, the headphones are an example of the wonder of mother nature with a gorgeous, honey-coloured look.

The Grado RS1 is very efficient & can be driven by the output of most portable players and home audio equipment. A good quality dedicated headphone amplifier will help improve the overall control and detail of the highs, add some heft and authority to the bottom end. A headphone amp will also provide a slightly deeper, more expansive dimension to the RS1's soundstage image.

The RS1 will produce a sound that is pure Grado, warm harmonic colour, rich full bodied vocals, excellent dynamics and an ultra smooth top end.
