Grado SR125i DescriptionGrado SR125i open back Hi-Fi headphones. The Grado SR125i is a superb on-ear open back headphone designed for home listening. These award winning headphones feature high quality driver diaphrams that go through a special Grado de-stressing process to bring out the detail in your music. Grado's ability to combine lightness with extreme rigidity and internal damping has been put to good use on the SR125i. Based on the same design as the SR80i, the Grado SR125i headphone features an improved diaphragm and voice coil design and UHPLC (Ultra-high purity, long crystal) copper voice coil wire. The Diaphragms are put through a special 'de-stressing' process in order to enhance inner detail. An improved headband spring provides even greater comfort allowing the listener to relax and enjoy the fine tonal spread and balance. Bass, midrange and treble are all more open. The Grado SR125i headphones have the traditional basic flexible leather Grado headband style and use simple metal height adjusters to connect the earpieces to the headband, thus allowing for up-and-down sizing adjustment plus full 360-degree earcup rotation. This feature is ideal for one ear monitoring or for laying flat for storage and travelling. The Grado SR125i's are well-built -- as with all Grado Labs products -- and utilize speaker drivers perfectly matched to 0.1db with voice coils made of Grado's ultra-high purity, long-crystal, oxygen-free copper. The Grado SR125i is a fully open back earpiece design, which provides an open character to the audio reproduction. The downside is that those around you will also be able to hear sound that leaks from the open earcups and you will be able to hear noise around, so these headphones are ideal for home listening. The Grado SR125i's 4 conductor copper cable is terminated with a 6.35mm (1/4 inch) jack plug - so if you want to plug into a mini jack (3.5mm or 1/8 inch) connector then you will need an adapter- and have a straight cord that attaches to both earpieces. The Grado SR125i's are very efficient & can be driven by the output of most portable players and inexpensive home equipment. A good quality dedicated headphone amplifier will help improve the overall control and detail of the highs, add some heft and authority to the bottom end. A headphone amp will also provide a slightly deeper, more expansive dimension to the SR125's soundstage image.
