HiFiMAN Headphones

The HiFiMAN headphone range really are something special, using a special type of speaker design called planar (or sometimes orthodynamic). The result is a sound that is ultra low distortion and incredible levels of instrument separation.

Unlike regular dynamic headphone speakers that are driven from the edge of their speaker cone by a voice coil, planar speakers are driven over their entire surface by thin bar magnets mounted on either side, which means an even force is applied to the diaphragm. This means the speaker vibrates more uniformly and gives a more accurate sound.
