Excellent for the money
Bought these to take on a trip abroad where I needed to travel light. No camera, no MP3 player, no full-size headphones, just a mobile phone and these 'phones.
In absolute sound terms (comparing to my Sennheiser HD580s, now discontinued) they are:
1. Sensitive (probably due to their much lower impedance).
2. Lacking detail at low levels, although very easy on the ear and a pleasure to listen to.
3. Unsubtle at high volumes. Treble becomes coarse and bass overbearing. Mid seems recessed. Found a boost to the mid on the graphic equallizer helped a little here.
4. I have no reason to suspect that they are anything less than robust but they do appear a little on the delicate side. I decided to carry mine in a little waterproof food container 100mm dia and 40mm deep.
Concluding: although lacking in absolute sound quality, these offer excellent sound for the money.

Excellent quality bass
I just got these for Christmas and have been using them everyday. I like the CX300's because the standard iPod earbuds would never ever stay in my ear. These in-ear headphones finally stay in my ear even while jogging. They have great bass, are the most comfortable of any I've tried, and you can't beat the price!
