STAX SRS-3170 Classic System Description

STAX SRS-3170 Classic Electrostatic Headphone and Solid-State Amplifier System. The SRS-3170 is a standard combination system of the SR-307 with the sound element and the SRM-323S solid-state DC amplifier with an all-stage direct-coupled balance output circuit configuration.

The STAX SR-307 implements a PC-OCC low-capacity parallel cable with the gold-plated plug, securing the reliability over a long period of time. The STAX SR-307 offers a more natural sound stage in combination with the SRM-323S.

The STAX SRM-323S uses high-voltage bipolar transistors lowering the output impedance to improve the drive capability. This also expands the dynamic range of the high-frequency range. Moreover, the power transformer, equal to that of the STAX SRM-006tS has been adopted to achieve powerful reproduction not only for musical reproduction but also for professional monitoring purposes.

• Carefully selected "super engineered plastics" have been used for the sound element identical to upper-class models to obtain high-quality sound and stability against environmental changes
• The sound element is mounted in a high-rigidity resin case of a tough glass fibre mixture and firmly fixed to the metal base of the housing for vibration damping
• PC-OCC low-capacity special wide cable is employed to reduce the capacity between lines
