Fostex precision engineering has made their headphones memorable in the world of audiophile listening. In the growing range of Fostex high-end headphones the TH-500RP are the third addition - this time featuring an open design for high resolution sound with rich mid range, solid bass response and crystal clear highs.
Extensive modification and re-tuning of the Fostex Regular Phase driver within the TH-500RP offers high resolution sound with simply stunning execution, balance and transparency. To bring out the best sound of the TH-500RP a dedicated headphone amplifier is required, they are not suitable for standard portable sources.
Expert construction using aluminium and magnesium materials follows the design philosophy of Fostex acclaimed audiophile headphones. Equipped with high quality soft leather earpads that ensure the optimum distance between diaphragm and ear resulting in the best possible listening experience.

High Resolution
The new TH-500RP model now combines this RP technology with the design philosophy and flair of the TH-900, resulting in a set premium headphones which deliver a simply stunning high resolution sound, with sparkling highs, rich mid tones and high quality lows.
Redesigned Drivers
Employs the uniquely developed RP (Regular Phase) diaphragm which consists of etched copper foil on the surface with high heat resistant polyimide film as the base material. The distinctive characteristic of planar diaphragm is further evolved by newly tuning the entire driver unit.
Driving Power
To bring out the best sound the TH-500RP require a good headphone amplifier - they are not suitable for using with a standard portable source. Even thought they only have 48Ohm impedance, the sensitivity is only 93dB/mW.
Build & Design
With the use of aluminium and magnesium used for the structural parts the TH500RP achieves a high quality texture and light weight. A unique punched metal is used for the housing, which pays homage to the original RP headphone design.
