Etymotic HD3 high-definition, noise-isolating safety earphones have been engineered for outstanding sound quality and safe listening in high-noise environments. Each pair of HD3 Safety Earphones is equipped with foam and three-flanged silicone eartips to ensure highest noise isolation. Use of HD3 earphones even at maximum volume on portable players or smartphones is within OSHA Permissible Exposure Limits of 10.5 hours per day.
Like earplugs, properly inserted HD3 earphones create a seal to block sound to reduce external noise before it reaches the eardrum, attenuating sound by up to 42dB depending on the type of eartip used. As a result, users don’t need to increase volume to hear above the surroundings. Etymotic HD3 earphones also feature an in-line mic and remote to get the most out of compatible smartphones, tablets, and MP3 players, such as the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
Equipped with 6mm neodymium moving coil dynamic drivers the Etymotic HD3 earphones create smooth and accurate reproduction of sound with a broad frequency response and high level of detail. Etymotic HD3 also have a high impedance which reduces the output minimising hearing risk regardless of the volume level from portable players.

Safe Listening
Users can listen with the HD3 safety earphones at full volume for up to 10.5 hours per day and still remain within the OSHA Permissible Exposure Limits. Using the included replaceable foam tips, HD3 provide NRR 27 level protection from environmental noise, suitable for protection in up to 108dB environments. Using the included triple flange tips provides protection up to 102 dB.
Perfect Fit
Interchangeable eartips provide a snug and comfortable fit. A proper fit creates a seal in the ears to block out ambient noise and increase perceived loudness without actually increasing volume levels.

The remote and mic are supported only by iPhone 3GS or later, iPad, iPod touch (2nd generation or later), iPod classic (120GB, 160GB), and iPod nano (4th generation or later). The remote is supported by iPod shuffle (3rd generation or later). Audio is supported by all iPad and iPod models.
