Etymotic HD5 high-definition, noise-isolating safety earphones have been engineered for outstanding sound quality and safe listening in high-noise environments. Each pair of HD5 Safety Earphones is equipped with foam and three-flanged eartips to ensure highest noise isolation. Use of HD5 earphones even at maximum volume on portable players or smartphones is within OSHA Permissible Exposure Limits of 10.5 hours per day.
Like earplugs, properly inserted HD5 earphones create a seal to block sound to reduce external noise before it reaches the eardrum, attenuating sound by up to 42 dB depending on the type of eartip used. As a result, users don’t need to increase volume to hear above the surroundings.
Equipped with 6mm neodymium moving coil dynamic drivers the Etymotic HD5 earphones create a smooth and accurate reproduction of sound with a broad frequency response and high level of detail. Etymotic HD5 also have a high impedance which reduces the output minimising hearing risk regardless of the volume level from portable players.

Safe Listening
Users can listen with the HD5 safety earphones at full volume for up to 10.5 hours per day and still remain within the OSHA Permissible Exposure Limits. Using the included replaceable foam tips, HD5 provide NRR 27 level protection from environmental noise, suitable for protection in up to 108dB environments. Using the included triple flange tips provides protection up to 102 dB.
Perfect Fit
Interchangeable eartips provide a snug and comfortable fit. A proper fit creates a seal in the ears to block out ambient noise and increase perceived loudness without actually increasing volume levels.
