MrSpeakers ETHER 2

MrSpeakers has been hard at work on the latest flagship planar magnetic headphones ETHER 2. With only 290 grams total weight the ETHER 2 is comfortably the lightest top-tier planar magnetic headphone available. Fully redesigned driver, motor, baffle, and headband seamlessly merge stunningly lifelike sound with the highest comfort and reliability levels that MrSpeakers' headphones are famed for.

ETHER 2 has undergone an overhauled motor design based entirely on MrSpeakers TruFlow technology that eliminates turbulence in the audio waveform for reduced distortion levels and increased resolution. To make the most of the increased resolution of the motor we developed an all-new diaphragm that’s 70% less aluminium trace weight than the original ETHER driver.

Making sure the ETHER 2 headphones are robust and stand up to constant use the earcup and headband have been crafted from all-metal components, while the driver baffle is made from carbon fibre. With all these design elements the ETHER 2 is the lightest high-end full-size planar magnetic headphone available today.

Redesigned Motor
Fully reworked and designed around TrueFlow technology, the new motor of ETHER 2 achieves major improvements in linearity, dynamics, and detail. TrueFlow technology eliminates turbulence-inducing right-angles from the driver motor structure for greatly reduced distortion, extended frequency response and improved dynamics.

New Diaphragm Design
To reap the benefits from the new motor design MrSpeakers developed an entirely new diaphragm with considerably less aluminium trace weight than the original ETHER driver. As a result, the ETHER 2 is able to deliver incredible clarity, powerful bass, liquid mids, and a smooth, balanced top end.

Lightweight Build
With a reduced weight of nearly 90 grams compared to the precursor ETHER, this new version ETHER 2 is even more comfortable and wearable for extended listening sessions. To avoid any sound or performance degradation no elements were changed to plastic, all metal components are still made of metal.

Flagship Audio Cable
MrSpeakers' new flagship fully-custom cable VIVO incorporates silver plated OFHC copper and top-quality connectors. VIVO projects a wide open and holographic soundstage with precise imaging and scores of smooth detail. It has a remarkably supple feel and is so light you’ll hardly notice wearing your headphones.
